Another attempt is underway to repeal a controversial law that allows transgender students in California schools to choose which restrooms they use.
The initiative filed with the California attorney general’s office would require people to use restrooms in government buildings serving their biological gender.
A 2013 state law requires public schools to allow transgender students access to restrooms and locker rooms of their choosing. California was the first state to enshrine rights for transgender K-12 students.
